GAME SUMMARY
It was all about plate discipline and attacking the plate. The Road Warriors took advantage of 15 walks and 21 hits to beat the Gray Panthers, 22-to-8. Big Al Mirza, hitless for the season, blasted out of his slump with 4 hits and 4 RBIs, snagging the Leinenkugel Summer Shandy Player of the Game Award. Catcher Mark Loewy had a big day with 4 hits, 3 runs and 2 RBIs. Third baseman Skid Roe showed the patience of a safecracker. He walked his first 3 trips to the plate, then cracked the code with two solid hits and 4 RBIs. Septuagenarians Bill Smith and Wayne Brenden allowed only 2 earned runs and zero walks.
